PAUL’S JOURNEY IN GREECE & 7 DAY CRUISE – 13 days

Thessaloniki – Amphipolis – Philippi – Kavala (Neapolis) – Berea – Vergina – Meteora - Athens  Cenchreae – Corinth – Egypt (Port Said) – Israel (Jerusalem & Bethlehem) – Turkey (Istanbul) -Greek Islands
 
DAY 1 – MONDAY – ARRIVE IN THESSALONIKI
Transfer to your Hotel in the city of Thessaloniki.
DAY 2 – TUESDAY - AMPHIPOLIS – PHILIPPI – KAVALA (NEAPOLIS)
After a brief stop at Amphipolis we make our way to Philippi.  Here we will see the Agora and the prison where Paul and Sylas were kept.  After worship at the baptismal site of Lydia we shall continue to Kavala the ancient port of Neapolis.
DAY 3 – WEDNESDAY - THESSALONICA - BEREA – VERGINA – KALAMBAKA
This morning we shall drive to the upper part of the old city walls that offer excellent views of the city.  After our sightseeing drive we make our way to Berea and see the Byzantine mosaic commemorating Paul’s preaching there.  On to Vergina, the first capital of Macedonia, where we will visit the tomb of Philip II, the father of Alexander the Great.  The tour also includes a visit to the museum that houses the priceless artifacts found here.
DAY 4 – THURSDAY - METEORA MONASTERIES - ATHENS
Visit two of the spectacular Byzantine monasteries at Meteora, perched precariously on huge finger-like rocks.  View the superb icons, old manuscripts and unique mosaics and frescoes.
DAY 5 – FRIDAY - ATHENS – EMBARK CRUISE SHIP
Today we embark on the cruise ship to enjoy a fascinating seven days cruise on Mediterranean Sea. At 11am. sail to Istanbul, Turkey.
DAY 6 – SATURDAY – ISTANBUL (TURKEY)
In the morning we  enjoy a historical tour of the city including Agia Sophia with its Byzantine mosaics, Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. At 7pm. sail to Myconos.
DAY 7 – SUNDAY – MYCONOS (GREECE)
In the afternoon experience the cosmopolitan island of Myconos, which offers the perfect combination of a sophisticated yet charming Cycladic island life. Sail in the evening to Ashdod.
DAY 7 – MONDAY – AT SEA
Today we relax on board and we enjoy shipboard facilities.
DAY 9 – TUESDAY – ASHDOD (ISRAEL)
Just a short drive from Ashdod are the towns of Jerusalem and Bethlehem that we will visit. The sites we will see include the Mount of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, site of Jesus' crucifixation, Wailing Wall and Church of the Nativity. At 8pm sail to Port Said, Egypt.
DAY 10 – WEDNESDAY – PORT SAID - ALEXANDRIA (EGYPT)
Port Said is the starting point of our shore excursion to visit Pyramids, the Sphinx and enjoy a dinner on a Nile Cruise boat. Re-embark on the ship at Alexandria and sail to Crete island at 8:30pm

DAY 11 – THURSDAY - AGIOS NIKOLAOS, CRETE (GREECE)                                               In the afternoon we enjoy our free time at this peaceful town of Crete which flourished under Venetian rule in the 12th & 13th centuries. At 8p.m. sail to Piraeus, Athens.

DAY 12 – FRIDAY - CORINTH – CENCHREAE – ATHENS
After disembarking, we commence our enchanting drive along the Saronic Gulf.  First stop will be at the Corinth Canal.  Then on to the site of Ancient Corinth, home to the Apostle Paul for 1½ years.  Visit the ancient port of Cenchreae before returning to Athens.
DAY 13 – SATURDAY – ATHENS DEPARTURE
Depart from Athens.
