Pompeii is a town at the foot of Mt. Vesuvius. It has become famous in history for the burial of the entire city under ash and pumice stone after the 79 AD eruption of Mount Vesuvius.  You will walk by the mansions of the wealthy inhabitants, and admire the art, the lavish baths, the villas and the remains of  city that once was prosperous and vibrant but now has been frozen in time.

After driving to Rome our first visit will be to St. Peter’s Basilica.  Continue with a sightseeing drive through the city, viewing the Colosseum, Arch of Constantine, Roman Forum, Venice Square, Capitol Hill and Tiberine Island.  Stop close to Trevi Fountain which you will visit and then some free time for exploring or lunch.  Later meet guide and return to your ship.
