CLASSICAL GREECE TOUR - 7 days

DAY 1: ATHENS ARRIVAL
Arrival Athens. Meet, assist & transfer to your hotel in Athens center

 

DAY 2: ATHENS CITY TOUR
Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Athens, including a visit to the spectacular Acropolis and Mars Hill with sightseeing drive of the city.  Afternoon free.  Overnight in Athens

 

DAY 3: ATHENS – CORINTH – MYCENAE – EPIDAURUS – NAFPLION - TOLO
Photo stop at the Corinth Canal before reaching the ancient city of Corinth where the apostle Paul lived and preached. On to Mycenae where you can see remains of the prehistoric citadel fortified with Cyclopean walls, the Lionesses' Gate, the Mycenaean Palace and the tomb of King Agamemnon. Continue on to Epidaurus with its famous well-preserved theatre. Overnight in Tolo

 

DAY 4: NAFPLION – TRIPOLIS – MEGALOPOLIS - OLYMPIA
Drive through central Peloponnese to ancient Olympia which holds the stadium where the first Olympic Games took place in 776 BC. Thereafter they were held every 4 years. Afternoon visit to the archaeological site and museum. Dinner & overnight stay in Olympia

 

DAY 5: OLYMPIA – PATRAS - DELPHI
Morning drive via Patras to Rion, driving through Nafpaktos and onwards to visit the archaeological site at Delphi where the priestess Pythia pronounced her famous oracles in the Temple of Apollo. Dinner & overnight stay in Delphi

 

DAY 6: DELPHI - ATHENS
Early visit to the museum at Delphi before returning back to Athens in the afternoon. Overnight in Athens

 

DAY 7 : ONE DAY CRUISE
Enjoy a cruise to the lovely Greek islands of Poros, Hydra & Aegina. First stop is Poros, delightful scenery marked by the low pine-wooded hills.  From here we continue our voyage to Hydra, fashionable artists' colony, a retreat of intellectuals and a favorite film location. An amphitheatrical town rings the colorful harbor with well-preserved sea-merchant family mansions.
Lunch is served on board ship.  Our last port of call is Aegina, an attractive and tranquil resort place. Here we can either join the optional excursion to the Temple of Aphaia; one of the finest and the best preserved of the Greek temples.  Return to Athens early evening, return to Hotel

 

DAY 8: ATHENS DEPARTURE
