A TASTE OF GREECE- 9 days
ATHENS – MYKONOS – EPHESUS (TURKEY) – PATMOS – CRETE – SANTORINI – MYCENAE - EPIDAURUS
 

DAY 1: ATHENS ARRIVAL
Arrive at Athens International Airport. We meet, welcome and assist you by our representative and transfer you to the hotel for overnight

 

DAY 2 : ATHENS CITY TOUR
On this half day tour visit the major sites of the city including the Acropolis and the famous Parthenon

DAY 3 – FRIDAY - EMBARK CRUISE – MYKONOS
Today we board our cruise ship and at 11am we set sail.  Our evening will be spent on the cosmopolitan island of Mykonos

 

DAY 4 – SATURDAY – KUSADASI (EPHESUS) – PATMOS
This morning we will explore the ancient City of Ephesus in Turkey.  Both the Apostles Paul and John had visited here.  Our afternoon is spent on the serene island of Patmos.  Here we shall see the cave the Apostle John made his home when he had been exiled here.  The cave was also the location where John wrote the book of Revelations

 

DAY 5 – SUNDAY – CRETE – SANTORINI
From the port of Heraklion in Crete we will make our way to Knossos the centre of the ancient Minoan civilization and legendary home of the Minotaur.  In the afternoon be inspired by the unique beauty of the island Santorini.  We can stroll freely through the cliff hanging villages and admire the breathtaking views

 

DAY 6 – MONDAY - ANCIENT CORINTH – CENCHREA - ATHENS
After disembarkation, we drive along the Saronic Gulf with a photo stop at the Corinth Canal.  On to Mycenae to visit the remains of the prehistoric citadel, the Mycenaean Palace and the tomb of King Agamemnon.  On to Epidaurus, the best-preserved ancient theatre in all of Greece, easily seating 12,000 spectators. After some free time in the seaside town of Nafplion we return to our hotel

 

DAY 7 : NATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Visit the National Archaeological Museum of Greece, which displays finds from all parts of the ancient Greek world that date from Neolithic times to the last years of the Roman Empire

 

DAY 8: SOUNION & GLYFADA
Drive past the beautiful beaches of Kalamaki, Glyfada, Voula, Vouliagmeni and Varkiza, with its countless coves. Cape Sounion, famous for its radiant sunsets and dominated by the Doric white marble Temple of Poseidon that overlooks the blue Aegean Sea.  We visit the Temple of Poseidon, then some free time in Glyfada before we return to the hotel

 

DAY 9: ATHENS DEPARTURE
In the morning transfer to Athens International Airport for your departure flight home
