Day 1: Arrival in Athens
Upon your arrival at Athens airport, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel in central Athens. Enjoy your first night wandering the historical capital and eat at one of our many recommended restaurants.
Day 2: Athens
Enjoy a tour of the famous Acropolis hill and Parthenon temple with an English speaking guide. Continue with the Acropolis Museum and free time for shopping in Plaka, the oldest and most picturesque neighborhood of Athens. Enjoy a wine tasting and introduction to Greek wines before returning to your hotel.
Day 3: The volcanic and spectacular island of Santorini
Transfer to Piraeus port for the ferryboat to Santorini. Upon arrival in Santorini, visit one of the many famous wineries and enjoy a tasting of their famous wines and local delicacies. Transfer to the hotel for check in before enjoying a group dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 4: Santorini – Akrotiri / Winery
Today we will enjoy a guided tour of the archaeological site of Akrotiri, thought to be the site of the lost city of Atlantis. Following the tour, enjoy a panoramic bus ride of the island and have a lunch and tasting at a local winery. Transfer back to hotel and rest of the day free.
Day 5: Santorini - Winery/Catamaran tour
Today you have the morning free to explore the island of Santorini. In the afternoon, enjoy a tasting at a winery before your transfer to the port for an afternoon catamaran ride to the volcano and finally to view the world famous sunset. Enjoy a BBQ dinner onboard with drinks before returning to the port.
Day 6: Santorini – Tomato museum/cooking class
Visit an alternative side of Santorini, starting with the tomato factory. Being a volcanic island, the local produce of Santorini is famous for its flavor, including their tomatoes and a whole array of other products. Enjoy a cooking class at a local winery before returning to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 7: Departure for Heraklion, Crete / Archaeological museum
Enjoy a free morning at leisure before your transfer to the port for the ferryboat to Heraklion, Crete. Late afternoon arrival in Crete and visit the archaeological museum for a guided tour. Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Crete – Chania – Knossos – Cooking class
Check out of your hotel and visit the famous Palace of Knossos, home of the ancient Minoan civilization and of the Minotaur (half bull/half man). Continue with a cooking class at a local winery before arriving at your hotel in the old port town of Chania. Dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 9: Crete – Olive oil tasting – beach day
Transfer to a winery for a complete lesson on the famous Cretan olive oil. Visit a factory and bottling company amongst the olive groves and learn to distinguish between different types of olive oil. Transfer to a beach and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 10: Departure flight to Athens
Transfer to the airport of Chania for your domestic flight (40 min) to Athens.
